Despite not seeing a lot of success in her previous films last year, Sandhya seems to be bouncing back into limelight with her next lineup of projects. Topping the list of her roles in that of Gowri, in the Kannada film 'Aaptharakshaka', which is a sequel to 'Aapthamithra' which was later remade in Tamil as 'Chandramukhi'. “I play a researcher. It is a take off from where 'Aapthamithra' left, but all the character’s aren’t the same,” she says, adding that over 60 percent of her portions for the film are over.

After these, there are two more roles of substance for her, in 'Nootrukku Nooru' and 'Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam'. “Nootrukku Nooru is a remake of an older blockbuster, and I’m playing the role Sri Vidhya did in the original. The film centres on a professor, played by Vinay,” says the actress who is supposed to be playing a negative role in the film now.

After this, she is also playing a guest role in 'Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam'. “It’s a completely different genre. It’s a cowboy film set in a different century and I am a Kaattu Ilavarasi” says the actress whose 'Manjal Veyyil' will get released next month end.
